Infertility happens when a couple cannot conceive after having regular unprotected sex. It may be that one partner cannot contribute to conception, or that a woman is unable to carry a pregnancy to full term. It is often defined as not conceiving after 12 months of regular sexual intercourse without the use of birth control.
 
This course imparts in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge about all aspects of assisted reproductive technologies including pre-treatment evaluation, testing, acolyte recovery and embryo transfer. Candidates will be given an opportunity to comprehend various treatment procedures in an elucidated manner coupled with all-encompassing hands-on training on a one-one basis in all aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).

  • Types of infertility and infertility tests
  • Medical condition diagnosis of abnormal sperm production, hormonal imbalance, ovulation disorders, genetic disorders etc.
  • Fertility treatments, recovery, assisted conceptions, IUI, IVF etc.

Course Details

·       Safe laboratory practice in Andrology

·       Quality control, Quality assurance and proficiency testing in andrology

·       Video/ Multimedia presentation of critical clinical characteristics of setting up of an ideal IVF laboratory, follicular study, ovum pick up, oocyte stripping, laser assisted hatching, oocyte-zygote and embryo scoring, extended culture and embryo transfer

·       Cryopreservation of gametes and embryos (demonstration only)

·       Observer together ship in an actual clinical set up for 5 days (no hands-on experience will be available)

Hands-on Training Includes

·       Stimulation Protocols

·       Male infertility and female infertility investigations 

·       Follicle Monitoring 

·       Ovum Pickup Observe

·       Embryo Transfer

·       Semen Analysis, Preparation

·       Setting up of IVF Lab

·       Maintenance of Lab, Equipment

·       Hands on pick up (Depending on Availability)

·       Types of media, media handling, aliquoting and subsequent storage

·       Oocyte and embryo handling transfer between the droplets and dishes

·       Catheter loading for IUI and embryo transfer

·       Embryo transfer techniques

·       Micromanipulation components, mechanics and installation instructions

·       Aligning of micromanipulator, micro tools and preparing for sperm injection

·       Sperm immobilization and mock injection followed by ICSI

·       Oocyte donation and surrogacy

·       Regulatory and ethical issues in ART today

·       Counseling infertile patients for various ART procedures

·       Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and QC/ QA

Clinical rotations/ training/ observership

# there will be an exam on final day which will include VIDEOS AND IMAGES for diagnosis, which has be done in the class and need to be submitted the same day.
